Square Water is combining technology and innovative engineering to create a smart field; a field where water, farming and machinery meet to increase crop production and create a more sustainable world.
The Problem
Current crop irrigation often uses traditional center pivots, limited by a fixed arm length.
While generally effective, this results in irrigating a circular area centered about the pivot, leaving over 25% of the land dry.
Dry Land & Fixed Arm Lengths
Current center pivot technology is limited by fixed lengths between towers and standard arm lengths, which leaves the corners of the fields as dry land and limits maximum use of the land.
Agricultural Challenges
Existing solutions include end-guns that can waste *up to 35% of water applied, costly swing arms and other labor-intensive irrigation work.
Wind Drift & Water Loss
Current irrigation solutions are limited to a set drop height throughout the entire season. During the early season, wind drift is an issue as the crop height is not substantial enough to slow the winds in many locations.
Our Solution
Square Water has developed an innovative new arm that can irrigate square plots of land. The arm’s expansion and contraction allows for customizability in each field, is not limited by distances between towers, and can be be raised and lowered based on wind conditions and crop height throughout the growing season.
Our solution allows for maximum efficiency of every field, no matter the size or shape.
